Myanmar and Vietnam are boosting their cooperation in the tourism industry through implementing bilateral agreements according to Myanmar’s Ministry of Hotels and Tourism.

According to the agreements, travel associations and agencies from both countries are in close cooperation and holding tourism shows.

“We have held coordination meetings and did what should be addressed and are doing promotion-related work. Like Vietnam, we are working on the development of tourism in conjunction with other countries. The ministry will issue some exact statistics on travel arrival from or through Vietnam,” said an official of information and internal and external relations division of the ministry.

It is learnt that presently bilateral working teams for the promotion of tourism are being formed and recently, as part of the tourism cooperation project, there was an event “Vietnam Days in Myanmar” at Myanmar Plaza in Yangon where exhibit booths of travel companies, souvenir gifts and photos of well-known travel destinations of Myanmar and Vietnam  were on display.
