A new elephant camp is set to be opened near Nga Laik Dam in Naypyitaw aiming to attract more local and foreign tourists to elephant camp sites.
Local newspaper Daily Eleven reported that the 20-acre site called Nga Laik Sakhantha Elephant Camp is located in Oaktara Thiri township
Ministry of hotels and tourism has allowed Myanmar Souvenir
(MSEA) to issue cash vouchers for the tourists to buy gems and
other valuable souvenirs, The Myanmar Times reported.
U Than Win, the chairman of the association, said the vouchers will be used for the
Myanmar’s famous Shwe Dagon Pagoda received more than 40,000
foreign visitors in the first month of this fiscal year according to Xinhua
Among the list of international tourists visited to the pagoda, Thailand topped with 7,749 visitors and China followed second with 2,295.
