Privately owned domestic carrier Air Kanbawza is preparing to expand its services by operating its first international flight to neighboring Thailand.
Local newspaper 7 Day reported that the airline, otherwise known as AIR KBZ, will fly between Yangon and Chiang Mai three times a week in coming November.
The airline plans to operate the flights to Chiang Mai with reasonable airfares.
Air KBZ was established in 2010 and is owned by Kanbawza Group of Companies, a major Myanmar-based conglomerate possessing 11 subsidiaries across industries such as construction, garments, insurance, banking, oil, communications, cement, aviation and mining.
Based on Yangon International Airport, Air KBZ is operating domestic flights to 15 destinations in Myanmar with eight aircraft.
The airline also aims to have more than 20 destinations in the near future, covering all the commercial centers of Myanmar.
