Chin state authorities got approval from the union government to be able to approve the hotel projects in its six townships, local newspaper 7 Day reported.

Aiming to develop the state and create the job opportunities for the local people, the union government gave green light to the state government to make its own decision on the hospitality projects.

But the state parliament has not discussed yet how many projects are planned to approve.

It is the first time the government will approve the hotel projects in Chin state and it invited proposals on the construction of the hotels in Hakha, Hpalan, Tedim, Palatwa, Matupi and Khaikam starting from October 26.

The companies must send the proposals before November 8. The tender winning companies will get maximum 5-acre-land plots for their projects and the hotels must include at least 20 rooms.
