Company asked approval on helium balloon service in Yangon
A private company asked permission from city authorities to develop a helium balloon site in Yangon’s Kandawgyi Park to attract tourists and entertain the public, according to the online news website The Irrawaddy.
An official from Yangon City Development Committee said the authorities are considering to approve the proposal of Myanmar Voyage International Tourism – on the condition that the surrounding trees, lanes and lake from the 110-acre park are not affected.
The firm is run by U Thet Lwin Toh, who is also the chairman of Myanmar Tourism Federation, and it proposed to use a 40,000 square feet lawn in the park for the helium balloon launch site.
So far, an initial survey has done for the project, which will provide tourists with a bird’s-eye-vidw of Kandawgyi Park.
