Domestic wing of Yangon International Airport opened

The new domestic terminal of Yangon International Airport was opened on December 3 after 15-month long construction was completed.

The developer company, Yangon Aerodrome Company Limited (YACL) announced that its latest domestic airport terminal (T3) is ready to flights and passengers and all the domestic airlines will start using the building on December 9.

The company said T3 is a testament to the strength of the country’s home-grown abilities as it was implemented with 90 percent local workforce though it was built in line with international standards.

It said the terminal will play a major role for travellers flying through Yangon with 10 airlines to 26 destinations in the country.

YACL is currently managing, operating Yangon International Airport, which is a main gateway to Myanmar and the busiest and largest airport, handling 4.68 million passengers in 2015
