Drone flying restricted over Shwedagon Pagoda
The trustees of Myanmar’s famous Shwedagon Pagoda has warned again about drone flying over the most sacred Buddhist pagoda of the country.
Local based The Myanmar Times newspaper reported that unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are not allowed flying over Shwedagon and its grounds without asking permission in advance.
The restriction has been in place since September 2015 but the public awareness on the ban is still weak that the board of trustees seized eight drones over the last year.
Though the board tried to get attention from public with an awareness campaign and put up notices, it needs to find more effective ways to raise the awareness.
