The officials from Myanmar Tourism Federation proposed to establish Tourism Bank and Park during their meeting with the union minister for hotels and tourism in early May.
According to local newspaper 7 Day, the officials explained its organization structure and operations to the minister and planned to start the implementation on the bank and the park as soon as the minister showed interest in them.
The chairman of the federation, Mr Yan Win, said the meeting was mainly focused on the explanation about the history of the federation, financial situation, tourism fund and situation of the hotel zone projects.
“Regarding with the hotel zone projects, we could only explain about the project which is being implemented near Tada-U township in Mandalay Region. At the moment, we are under negotiations with the landowners and we can implement the project after we get agreements with them,” the chairman said.
The minister suggested to the federation to have transparency on the implementing the projects and to cooperate with other related organizations for the establishment of tourism bank.
Myanmar Tourism Federation was established in 2011 with 11 associate members from hotels and tourism sector.
