Tourism authorities are enthusiastic on promoting Myanmar’s capital, Naypyitaw, as a tourism destination or event holders according to local newspaper The Myanmar Times.
At the celebration for World Tourism Day held in the last week of September in Naypyitaw, officials from hotels and tourism ministry revealed that a marketing team is trying to promote the capital as a location for MICE – meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions.
The government started its efforts on pushing Naypyitaw as a potential destination for conferences and events last year.
Hotels there are willingly reducing the room prices competitively and there are over 50 hotels with more than 5,000 rooms in Naypyitaw.
