French clothing company Lacoste has opened its first retail store at Yangon Airport aiming to offer a premium shopping experience to both local and international travelers.

According to The Moodie Davitt Report, the 100sqm travel-retail shop is opened at the new terminal of the airport.

Singapore Myanmar Investco (SMI) signed a long term agreement in December 2015, after securing 6,700 square meters of retail space at the new terminal of Yangon International Airport and Lacoste boutique is among the stores of more than 30 international brands.

Lacoste Asia Pacific Travel Retail Director Erin Lillis-Arrowsmith said: “We are very excited to break into this new market with this new standalone boutique in Yangon Airport. SMI has put together a great brand line-up and we’re looking forward to a great partnership.”

The French brand was founded in 1933 and sells high-end clothing, footwear, perfume, leather goods, watches, eyewear, and most famously polo shirts.
