MAI to fly between Yangon and Kolkata
National flag-carrier Myanmar Airways International (MAI) will start operating flights to India’s Kolkata starting from December 1.
The airline announced that it will fly to Kolkata twice a week on every Thursday and Sunday and the air fare costs $305 for a return trip.
An official from MAI said the new route is mainly aimed to attract the business travelers as there is a potential growth in the bilateral trade between Myanmar and India in near future.
From its Yangon base, MAI is currently operating international flights to Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Guangzhou and Bodh Gaya as well as to Bangkok from Mandalay.
