Myanmar and Thailand to cooperate for one-destination
Myanmar and Thailand has signed an MoU to promote the tourism between the two countries as both countries have great potential due to its natural and cultural resources.
Thailand’s Bangkok Post reported that the MoU was signed in the first week of February and the officials were agree to raise the number of visitors between the neighboring countries to 1.5 million by 2020.
To promote the tourism between the countries, the tourism authorities will study ways to launch marketing programs and viability of code-sharing aviation routes including Phuket-Ranong-Myeik and Chiang Mai-Mandalay-Bagan.
Thailand stands at the top of the list on foreign visitors came to Myanmar and total of 207,000 Thai tourists visited Myanmar via Yangon International Airport.
