Ngapali received more beachgoers this year
Myanmar’s premier beach destination Ngapali this year welcomed more visitors from January to August according to the local newspaper The Voice.
The data from the ministry of hotels and tourism indicates that total of 44,323 visitors came to the beach in eight months of 2016 and the number was increased from last year figure of 34,770 visitors.
An official from the ministry said "Though the rainy season is not over yet, new hotels are opened and air transportation is improved that the number of visitors to the beach is increasing."
At the moment, the beach has here are 26 hotels and they provides room capacity of over 800. Airlines also operate daily flights to the beach.
Ngapali is a prominent beach in the Rakhine State and it is located about four miles away from Thandwe Township. Total of 54,219 visitors came to the beach in 2015.
