Number of tourists arrived to Mandalay increased

The number of foreign visitors came to Mandalay in eight months was increased about 26 percent compare to the same period of last year, according to the local newspaper The Myanmar Times.
The data from ministry of hotels and tourism indicates that over 220,000 foreign tourists visited Myanmar’s second-largest city from January to August this year.
There were about 300,000 foreign visitors came to the city in 2015 and the ministry expects to receive more than 400,000 tourists by the end of the year as the tourist peak season is coming soon.
Tourists in Mandalay mostly visit Mandalay Hill and U Bein Bridge, which is believed to be the oldest and longest teakwood bridge in the world.
