Signing final agreement for Hantharwaddy Airport postponed
The final agreement between Myanmar government and tender wining companies for Hantharwaddy International Airport has been postponed for two months as the negotiations has not been completed.
Local newspaper 7 Day reported quoting an official from the department of civil aviation that the two sides will be able to sign the final agreement on the project at the end of February though it was expected to sign in December, 2016.
The official said at least two meetings are needed to be held to complete the negotiations and each meeting will be lasted for about a month.
Tender winning GC- Yongnam-Changi Airport International Consortium will develop the project with PPP system and the whole project is expected to cost about US$1.4 billion.
The government called tender on the project in 2012 targeting to start the implementing process in 2016.
