Tanintharyi government eyes to develop a hotel zone
State government of Tanintharyi Region plans to implement a hotel zone near Maungmakan Beach in Dawei district of Myanmar’s southern Tanintharyi Region.
Local newspaper The Voice reported that the chief minister of the region aims to gather the hotels sprawling across the coast by drawing an urban plan for Maungmakan village.
An official from the state cabinet said “ We want the hotel zone at a specific place and aim to develop it in Maungmakan area.”
But still several land issues are needed to be solved as there are some illegal residents and forestry areas in the beach.
The foreign tourist arrival to Dewei district is increasing and the international visitors are mostly interested in the natural beaches from Launglon area rather than Maungmakan beach.
