Visitors to Gawyingyi doubled

New beach destination in Ayeyarwady Region has attracted more and more foreign and local visitors, local newspaper 7 Day reported.

Gawyingyi Island is located near Nanthapu village in Ngayouke Kaung sub-township, Pathein District, and it is famous its beautiful rock formation and reefs.

The number of local and foreign visitors to the beach island has increased more than double according to west beach tourism region management committee and authorities are preparing to facilitate community-based tourism in the region, where many places remain untouched.

There are some rocky islets which also have beautiful and unspoiled beaches in the region.
