Visitors to Ngwe Saung increased 36 percent

The number of beachgoers to Ngwe Saung Beach in ten months of this year was increased about 36 percent compare to the same period of last year.

Local newspaper 7 Day reported quoting U Soe Win, the director from hotels and tourism department (Ngwe Saung), that about 89,000 foreign and local tourists visited the beach from January to October this year and the figure was increased about 36 percent than the previous year data, which was 65,500 visitors.

The director said the beach resort, which is located about 48 km west of Pathein township in Ayeyarwady Region, has earned greater reputation for its beauty and cleanness.

He added that the number of foreign visitors also reached double this year as it was increased from 10,500 in 2015 to 21,000 this year.
