Yangon’s first book plaza opened
The first book plaza in Myanmar was officially opened on February 26 featuring book stalls, publishing houses, booths of famous writers, recreation centers, café and spaces for children.
Local based Daily Eleven newspaper reported that Yangon Book Plaza is arranged and managed by Myay Hmone Lwin, the owner of NDSP Publishing and We Distribution, and is opened on the fifth floor of Than Market in Lanmadaw township.
The plaza comprises 22 books shops, two second hand book shops, a café, children’s stadium and souvenir shop.
It also displays the portraits, brief biographies and hand-written manuscripts of Myanmar’s famous late writers.
The plaza opens from 10 am to 9 pm.
