Boat trips along the
Chindwin River are gaining more and more interest from foreign visitors
according to the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism.
Foreign visitors explore the prominent historical places
and want to experience the natural beauty, lifestyle and culture of local
people along the Ayeyarwaddy River, the Chindwin River.
Towns and villages which are
accessible via the river include Yaysagyo, Amyint Village, Monywa, Thinhtaw,
Maukalaw, Kalaywa, Kalay, Kintut, Sitthaung, Paungpyin, Homallin, Mawlite,
Kyitaung Oo, PholwinTaung, Shwe Ba Taung, Bagan and Mandalay.
This information comes at a time as
the number of foreign visitors traveling here by water, land and air rapidly
increases for the dry season and Myanmar’s tourism high season.
