Ministry approved 32 more hotel and motel licenses in November and December

The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism has approved 23 more hotel and motel licenses in November and December 2017, according to an announcement by the Ministry.

There are now nearly 2,000 approved hotels and motels most of which are located in Yangon and Mandalay. The resulting total numberof hotel and motel rooms available across the country now comes to 63,978 in total.

‘‘We immediately approve the proposals if they meet necessary criteria. The online registration program makes the process more efficient and faster,’’ said an official from the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism.

The Ministry also approved 97 more national guide licenses, nearly 60 local guide licenses, 29 transportation licenses, 93 citizen-owned tour companies and one joint venture tour company.
