Mercure Hotels debut in Myanmar

Mercure Yangon Kaba Aye Hotel

Mercure, the international hotel chain operated by AccorHotels, with 770 hotels in 61 countries has just opened its first hotel in Myanmar. The 183-room hotel is located on Kabaye Pagoda Road close to Inya Lake. The higher floors of the seven storey building have excellent views of the surroundings. The suite rooms in Mercure feature kitchenettes and a separate dining and living room. All rooms are spacious and comfortable and particularly suitable for families and long-stay guests. The MiCasa Restaurant & Bar has undergone an update to bring to guests a fresh and modern design with all of the best dishes they love as well as new and exciting international and local cuisines.

For a wedding, meeting or conference, up to 210 attendees can be catered for in the function space. The hotel now features a ‘Ready to Work’ space where freelancers and those on work trips can get their projects done with convenient facilities and in comfort. This work space is available for hourly or monthly rental rates and up to six people can work there at once. ‘Sweat Club’ is Mercure’s modern fitness club which features top-quality and modern gym equipment as well as a series of fitness classes.

There is also a large 21-metre pool for relaxing or exercise and the adjacent bar offers refreshing drinks and snacks during or after using the pool. “We are extremely proud to be the first Mercure Hotel in Myanmar. Under a globally recognised brand, the hotel offers guests that are travelling to the city a local and authentic hospitality experience synonymous to the brand’s purpose and ambition,” said Richard Tin Tun, General Manager of Mercure Yangon Kaba Aye.
