Yangon Chic Hotel to Open in December
A tourism
company Memories Group has revealed the grand opening of a chic business and
leisure hotel in Yangon on December 15, said a press release by the group.
Equidistant between the former capital’s International Airport and its
downtown area, the new
46-key resort, named Awei
Metta, is located within the leafy suburbs of
the Pun Hlaing Estate
in Hlaing Tharyar Township, said the media release.
Sharing the
property with the Gary
Player-designed Pun Hlaing Golf Course to get graced more, which has hosted
the Asian Tour Myanmar Open for the past
two years, the higher floors of the five-storey Awei Metta overlook the panoramic
palm tree-lined fairways of the top-ranking course.
Owned by the Memories
Group as well, the modern resort features a restaurant overseen by an
experienced French chef, a lobby lounge with a bar, a sophisticated cigar room,
a swimming pool, a fitness center, a spa, tennis courts, and a conference room
seating up to 200 guests.
The hotel’s 46
wood-panelled suites, which range in size from 46m² to 95m², each come with a
private balcony, an office space and a wide-screen TV. Awei Metta offers the
deals on the suites, starting from
US$190 per night.
Awei means sharing or
giving, while Metta does loving-kindness.
